Located high between the ranges of Dhauladhar Kareli Lake is an ideal place to seek some adventure. Its surface is 2934 meters above the sea level. Kareri Lake also known as Kumarwah Lake. Being famous in trekkers and nature lovers Kareli Lake offers you some splendid views which you have never seen before.

Snow melting from the Dhauladhar range serves as the source of the lake and a stream, Nyund is the outflow. As the source of water is fresh melting snow, you will find the water is clear like crystal and you can see the lake bed distinctly. The fact says, the lake remains frozen from early December to March–April. Kareri Lake is named after the nearby gaddi village of Kareri, situated 9 km south-east of the lake. 

This trek also takes you through green meadows, spruce forests, oak - pine trees making your trek most spectacular. The Kareri Lake is the third largest natural lake in the Dhauladhar region.

9 Nights / 10 Days

Day 1: Depart New Delhi for Mcleodganj (526 kms/ 12hrs overnight journey)
Board deluxe coach from Delhi (on seat sharing basis) around 2000hrs for an overnight journey to Mcleodganj.

Day 2: Arrive at Mcleodganj (1900M) around 0700hrs
Transfer the group to the Base camp in local jeeps. Post-lunch get ready for outdoor activities - Rock Wall, Climbing Obstacle Course, evening free to visit Mcleodganj, return for hot dinner and campfire

Day 3: Trek To Kareri Village ( Camp I) (1900m) 10kms/ 5 - 6hrs
(4kms Plain Walk + 2kms Descend + 4kms Ascend)

Day 4: Trek To Reuti ( Camp II )   (2600m) 9kms/ 5 - 6hrs
(2kms plain walk + 7kms of mixed ascent. Reuti is a small campsite split across the Nyuind River with just ankle deep water. A nice experience of wilderness camp in the forest.

Day 5: Trek To Kareri Lake  ( Camp Iii) (3200m) 5kms/ 2 - 3hrs (5kms Gradual Ascend)
Activity – Exploring the high altitude lake and surroundings

Day 6: Height Gain / Snow & Ice Craft  Near Kareri Lake
Departure at 8:00a.m. for height gain above Kareri Lake Camp towards the glacier on the way to the Minkhiani Pass. Adventure activity: Snow & Ice craft

Day 7: Trek To Harnala River Camp (1800m)  14kms/ 6hrs (Descend)
Activity – River Crossing

Day 8: Trek To Mcleodganj  (1900m) 10kms/ 5 - 6hrs   (4kms Descend + 2kms Ascend + 4kms Plain Walk)
(Option available to drive to Mcleodganj from Ghera at extra cost and just descend trek 4kms). Post lunch welcome address by Program Director and certificate giving ceremony. Option of visiting Mcleodganj.

Day 9: Explore Mcleodganj & Departure Day
Departure of the groups from afternoon for onwards journey. Groups connecting to trains leaving from Pathankot/ Chakki Bank will be transferred according to the program. Groups departing for Delhi by overnight coach to depart by 1900hrs

Day 10: Arrive Delhi package ends.
